Tell Mozan welcomed two German journalists today, who are visiting Syria for humanitarian purposes and to gain first-hand insight into the current situation in the country. I was very pleased to accompany them on their tour of the site and introduce them to the rich history of ancient Urkesh and its remarkable archaeological heritage.
When they first arrived in the region, archaeology was not among their main interests. However, after getting in touch with me and visiting Urkesh, their perspective changed. They showed great interest in the site, explored its various areas, and asked numerous questions about the activities that continue to be carried out thanks to the support of AVASA, IIMAS, and the Tell Mozan/Urkesh Archaeological Project.

It was particularly rewarding to witness their admiration for the state of preservation of the ancient remains and to see how deeply they appreciated the ongoing efforts to protect this invaluable cultural heritage and highlight its historical and cultural significance.
